IT'S WHO I AM
I am a former high school art teacher who resides near Lafayette, La. I spent my childhood in a rural area near New Roads, LA playing outdoors and living in a world where imagination and creativity were encouraged. That environment allowed me to see the world differently than most, and I use those experiences to enhance my artwork today.
I have a Bachelor of Art in art education from Louisiana Tech University. After college, I began a family and used my creativity in every aspect of my life while being a mom. I have worked as both a middle school and high school art teacher for over 17 years. My time in the schools allowed me the opportunity to follow my passion for teaching and sharing my enthusiasm for art. In 2020 I committed to working as a full-time artist, showcasing my work at local galleries and attending artisan markets in the south. I also enjoy encouraging others to step into their God-given talents through hosting my creative retreat. Creating has always felt like play for me and I hope that my work feels as free as I feel during the process.
